Description: Tax and insurance districts were reconciled over the course of 2017 and 2018 by the High Country Council of Governments and the Wilkes County Fire Marshal. Adopted written legal descriptions of the fire insurance and tax districts, E911 GIS road centerline mileage calculations and January 1, 2018 County parcel data was used to reconcile the fire insurance and tax districts.Districts represented in this shapefile were approved and adopted by Wilkes County Board of Commissioners and utilized in order to correct parcel tax district codes. Data is final as of November 2018.
